APCC to Hold Brainstorming Session in Vijayawada on June 19. The Andhra Pradesh Congress committee, which is groping in dark not knowing how to revive its political fortunes, has now decided to hold a daylong brain storming session in Vijayawada on June 19.
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Congress committee, which is groping in dark not knowing how to revive its political fortunes, has now decided to hold a daylong brain storming session in Vijayawada on June 19. The Congress meeting will coincide with the first session of the AP State Assembly.
The APCC will try to analyse the reasons for the humiliating drubbing it had suffered in the just-concluded Assembly elections and to work out an action plan for the future.
The focus will be on how to ensure that the rank and file remains with the party for the next five years and to resuscitate the party.
The APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy held a preparatory meeting with senior party leaders like Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, K V P Ramachandra Rao, C Ramachandraiah, T Subbarami Reddy and J D Seelam at Indira Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Raghuveera Reddy later told media that the party's brainstorming session will be held at Parinaya Function Hall on Ramavarappadu Ring Road in Vijayawada on Tuesday betwee 10 am to 4 pm."
He said as many as 300 leaders and workers would attend the meeting. All the party's candidates, who had contested in the elections, will take part in the deliberations. He said, the AICC has given certain guidelines for strengthening the party from mandal level to Assembly level and he would be concentrating in rebuilding the party organisation in the state.
Though it is no secret that the Congress high command's decision to bifurcate the then Andhra Pradesh had badly hit the electoral fortunes of the party in Seemandhra, the criticism voiced by senior party leaders in public had worsened the situation for the party, it is felt.
He said it has also been decided that the APCC should change its headquarters from Hyderabad to Vijayawada to ensure that the party leaders mingle with people.
The leaders also noted that the TDP government is also inclined to build a new capital between Vijayawada and Guntur.
APCC has also decided to have its headquarters in Vijayawada.
It is learnt that even the YSRCP is scouting for a suitable place to have its AP unit in Vijayawada.
