Guntur: Four Members of a Family End Life Guntur: Four members of a family belonging to Vallabhapuram in Kollipara mandal allegedly committed suicide near Macharla railway station because of financial problems. The family head, Venkateswar Reddy (65) had incurred a huge number of debts totaling Rs 10 lakh because of the vices of his grandson Vineel Reddy (20) and crop failure in two acres taken on lease.

Unable to meet the pressure from the creditors, Reddy resorted to suicide by consuming pesticide along with his wife Lakshmi (52), mother-in-law Sarojini(70) and daughter Latha (40). Reddy and other family members reached the Macharla bus station, purchased two water bottles and drank water mixed with pesticide around midnight. The four were found dead in the early hours of Sunday by passengers. Local residents informed police. However, Vineel managed to escape. Police seized his cell phone from the spot. They informed the victim’s relatives in Vallabhapuram. Police registered a case and launched a search for the youth.
The tenant farmer’s debts mounted as he was meeting every wish of Vineel whom he had brought up with lot of pampering.
