New Delhi: Centre to Help AP for 24X7 Power, Union Power and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday held out the promise to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to make Andhra Pradesh into a Model State with 24x7 power supply.

New Delhi: Union Power and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday held out the promise to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to make Andhra Pradesh into a Model State with 24x7 power supply. After the meeting with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Goyal said, “We agreed to work together to make Andhra Pradesh into a Model State, with 24x7 power supply for every individual home and every industrial and commercial establishment, besides quality power to the farmers.”

He also assured that an additional supply of 500mw would be made available to Andhra Pradesh by September to help it tide over the acute power crisis. Naidu urged Goyal to step up coal supplies to augment power generation in the State. He explained how AP was forced by acute power situation to cancel PPAs with APGenco.
Naidu met several Union Ministers for securing Central projects. He also interacted with captains of industry and apprised them of investor-friendly climate in Andhra Pradesh. During his meeting with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, he sought Central assistance for the new capital, special grant of Rs 15,000 crore to bridge the Budget deficit and changes in Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act. He also took up the most important farm loan waiver issue with Jaitley, as the RBI nod is a must for it.
