Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh State Government will introduce a new Information Technology policy in ten days.

Announcing this at an interactive session with the IT industrialists here on Tuesday, IT and Information and Public Relations Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that the new IT policy would have a single window system. "After submitting application, we will give permission in four weeks. In case permission is not given in four weeks, it is deemed to have been permitted," he explained.
The IT Minister said that Visakhapatnam would soon become an IT hub with IT Investment Region (ITIR) being sanctioned.

He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was keen on developing Vizag, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Anantapuram as industrial hubs. Already 400 companies had come forward in the IT and allied sectors. With AP getting special category packages and providing industrial concessions, it sure should attract investments and entrepreneurs, he stated.

An incubation centre, coming up at a cost of Rs 23 crore at Rishikonda, would be completed by August. The minister also revealed that Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Sameer Electronics (Defence) had sought more land in addition to what they were allotted. "Wipro said it could provide employment to 7,000 followed by Tech Mahindra with 5,000 jobs," he said.
