Andhra Pradesh to generate additional 500MW wind power soon, the state government of Andhra Pradesh plans to add 500MW of wind power capacity in the state within a year and is revising the wind power potential estimates in the State.

Hyderabad: Going on with the power crisis, the Andhra Pradesh state government led by Chandrababu Naidu is keen to utilize all possible measures so as to generate the power. As part of the very plan, the state government of Andhra Pradesh plans to add 500MW of wind power capacity in the state within a year and is revising the wind power potential estimates in the State.

Typically Andhra Pradesh has an advantage of high wind velocity which has been knocked hardly. Renewable Energy is the ultimate solution for the generation of power and the Andhra Pradesh government is keen to utilize all such options.

According to sources, in order to ensure uninterrupted power supply round the clock, AP has reportedly has chalked out plans to give greatest priority to improve the generation capacity by promoting renewable energy sources.

It is learnt that the APERC has been receiving a number of proposals for approval of individual PPAs executed between the DISCOMS and Wind Power Developers.
