Srisailam Continues to Receive Heavy Inflow of Water. Many villages along the banks of Krishna and Tungabhadra Rivers have received flood alert going on with the heavy inflow of water from Karnataka.

Hyderabad: Many villages along the banks of Krishna and Tungabhadra Rivers have received flood alert going on with the heavy inflow of water from Karnataka. The heavy inflow of water will continue for two more days due to nonstop rains in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Reportedly, officials have set up a control room in Kurnool to provide information about water level in the rivers and threat of flood to villages.

It is expected that the Srisailam will be full in the next three days if the heavy inflow of water continues from the upper area. The water level was 841 ft on Saturday and increased by 6 feet to attain the latest level of 875.30ft as of now while the highest level of the dam is 885ft.

From the other end, Jurala Project gets lessened inflow of water. While the inflow of water remained at 78000cuses, the outflow is maintained at 68000cuses. The present water level of the project is maintained at 318.30mts while the height level of the project is 318.5mts. As many as 8 gates have been opened to release the water.
