Kurnool: Massive protest with one lakh agitators for capital

Hyderabad: A massive dharna has been undertaken by the Rajadhani Sadana Samithi of Kurnool with the only demand of turning Kurnool into the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh, on Monday. A huge rally was undertaken from the Telugu Talli statue in Kurnool to district collectorate office with as many as 1 lakh people. Their only demand is to turn Kurnool into the new capital of the residuary of Andhra Pradesh.

It is evident that from the other end, the Sivarama Krishnan committee appointed for the assortment of capital city for the residuary Andhra Pradesh is set to tour in Kadapa district on Monday. The committee members will assemble at the community meeting hall in Kadapa at 10.30 a.m. to discuss various issues concerning the capital city selection.

It is worth recollecting here that the specially appointed Sivarama Krishnan committee has visited various districts in Andhra Pradesh including Visakhapatnam, Krishna and Guntur districts. Also, they have called on the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu recently to discuss this matter and reportedly shared with him, the main issues they had observed so far during their visits to various districts. The committee members visited many places in Prakasam district on Sunday.
