According to the police and the IOC officials, an LPG tanker filled with 18 tons LPG gas was on its way from IOC near the Naval dockyard to the checking post of IOC.

On the way it overturned near Sindhia Pipeline. Ramakrishna, the driver of the tanker was mildly hurt. At the spot of the incident there is a huge transformer. Nevertheless, no major loss has happened. All concerned authorities rushed the spot and have been taking adequate preventive measures. More details are awaited.

In a similar case, exactly a month before, an LPG tanker overturned near R & B guest House junction in Vijayanagaram. The LPG gas leaked from the tanker heavily and the local people are frightened by this untoward incident. The police who rushed the spot have taken adequate preventive measures. Soon after the incident, the driver and the cleaner of the lorry flew away from the spot.

These days, mishaps have been on a rise. Let it be a mishap on the road or fire or otherwise, the main reason turns to be the reckless attitude of the people. There is a need to exact the situation so as to prevent the accidents. Surely, if timely preventive measures would have been adopted, most of the accidents could have been avoided.

The people need to be educated. Better and wide publicity through the mass media channels may be opted for the same. Entertainment-Education concepts are most befitting in this case and will surely prove effective.
