Hyderabad: Vijayawada and temple town Tirupati have been given most “preferred city” status in the implementation of the 24x7 Power For All (PFA) scheme to be launched by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on October 2 marking Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary celebrations. The two cities will be provided with round-the-clock-power for domestic sector from the day the PFA is launched.

Although the APTRANSCO is making all arrangements for 24-hour power supply to all cities, towns and villages in the new State of AP, Vijayawada and Tirupati will be freed from power outages even during sudden power shortages occurring due to some reasons, according to the officials. They said except during the cyclones and heavy rains, uninterrupted power would be supplied to the two cities.

The officials said the two cities were being connected directly with grids and internal power networks to see that power would be supplied from different sources to ease out the power shortage even in difficult times.
