Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned the hearing on second phase engineering counselling in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states to Monday. The petition was filed by the private engineering college managements of Telangana. Senior advocate Gopal Subramanyam argued on behalf of college managements. He stated before the apex court that the colleges which were excluded from the counselling have the affiliation to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) till the day before the counselling commenced. He also mentioned that colleges that have excluded were operating from six years to 20 years. It may be noted that the Supreme Court refused to grant permission for conducting second phase counselling when Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education sought its consent. However, the private engineering colleges in Telangana had moved the court seeking permission to conduct second phase. After hearing their plea, the court served notices to all the All India Council of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education.
