Hyderabad: The YSR Congress party on Wednesday staged demonstrations in front District Collectorates across the State to highlight the “failure of the government” to deliver on its promises.

The YSRCP activists, led by leaders, underscored the need to exert pressure on the TDP government to keep its promise like waiver of farm loans and also those of DWCRA groups. The leaders also said the government had failed in providing succor to the people in the Hudhud ravaged districts.

“Farmers, women, weavers, pensioners and students in the cyclone-ravaged have participated in the State-wide dharna programmes in large numbers to vent their ire and disappointment against the TDP government,” party senior leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu told reporters here on Wednesday.

The call given by party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had evoked stupendous response with all sections of the people actively participating in the protest programme in 663 mandals and submitting memorandum against the anti-people policies being pursued by the government, he said, adding that this was only the beginning and more protests were in store if the State failed to change its mindset. The leaders, who participated in the agitation programme, said the anger among the people against the government was palpable.
