Tadepalligudem: The Central government had sanctioned Rs 181 crore for provision of new classrooms and other facilities in West Godavari district, said the Union MoS for Commerce and Industries, Nirmala Sitharaman. The minister inaugurated a new school building at Meenavalluru village of Pentapadu mandal in the district. The building was constructed at a cost of Rs 72 lakh.

The minister said that the Centre was committed to providing additional facilities in all the government schools.“The government has been spending huge amount of money through the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). It has cleared Rs 181 crore exclusively for West Godavari district during the current financial year,” she said.

“This would be spent for provision of additional classrooms and other infrastructure required for the government schools,” she said.

“The future of any country or society depended on the growth of children. The investment on human resources development would set the nation in the right direction,” Nirmala said. The minister paid rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Lal Bahadur Shastri after garlanding their statues.

State government’s media advisor Dr Parakala Prabhakar, endowments minister P Manikyala Rao, Narsapur MP Gokaraju Ganga Raju, local ZPTC K Venkateswara Rao, MPP P Venkateswara Rao, MPTC V Satyavathi, village sarpanch Samantakamani, RDO Tej Bharat, Tehsildar Madhusudhana Rao, MPDO Mallikharjuna Rao and others were present.
