Hyderabad: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has promised to start a “Japan-Plus Cell”, on the lines of one set up by Narendra Modi, for online clearance of investment proposals of Japanese firms. This will be a single-window clearance as well as single-desk clearance policy.

On the second day of his visit to Japan, he addressed meetings at Panasonic Corporation, Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Indian IT Forum.

At Panasonic Corporation, he was all praise for Prime Minister Modi. “Modi wants to transform India. We are partners in his efforts. India is a different country today. Last 10 years were plagued by policy paralysis. Now, we are an investor-friendly country,” he said. He briefed the industrialists about the exceptional entrepreneurial skills available in Andhra Pradesh, abundance of natural resources and the advantage of 24x7 power supply.

Stating that Panasonic is a household name in India, Naidu invited them to explore opportunities in Visakhapatnam.
Takeshi Uenoyama, a Fellow at Panasonic Corporation, said that Panasonic could help in groundwater purification.

At Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Masahi Hashimoto, chairman of International Business Committee of Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the Japanese companies were interested in investing in India.

Indian Ambassador to Japan, Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, said that “companies from Kansai region can start to make a database on AP industry…so that some collaboration will come to fruition,” she said. Elaborating on the advantages of AP for Japanese firms, the CM said that the state was poised to become the gateway of Southeast Asia and Asia because of our 1,000 km-long coastline. “We can send manufactured goods to countries like Malaysia, Singapore and China. AP aims to become logistics hub by developing 14 ports,” he added. Later Naidu experienced ride in the famed bullet train and travelled from Kyoto to Fukuoka on Tuesday.
