The demonstration was part of the State-wide protests called by YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy against delay in implementation of loan waiver scheme and other poll promises of Telugu Desam Party (TDP). YV Subba Reddy and Balineni alleged that TDP supremo Chandrababu made empty promises lies to come to power and continuing the same trend. They flayed Chandrababu for deceiving farmers, handloom weavers and SHG women on loan waiver scheme. Instead of waiving loans, the government was bringing new rules and creating confusion among the beneficiaries. Before the elections Chandrababu promised that Rs 1 lakh crore will be sanctioned for loan waiver, but the government has so far released only Rs 5,000 crore for implementation of loan and this indicates the commitment of government, they added. Thousands of farmers and the party cadres participated in the protest.

Eluru: YSRCP West Godavari unit president Alla Nani alleged that the TDP government led by N Chandrababu Naidu utterly failed in implementing crop loan wavier scheme. Thousands of farmers and YSRCP cadres led by Alla Nani staged a demonstration in protest against the anti-people’s policies of TDP government at Collectorate here on Friday. Nani said that farmers who voted the TDP to power expecting loan waiver were left in lurch. He noted that farmers were committing suicides due to debts and other problems. The government announced loan waiver scheme as Diwali gift, but the scheme was not implemented till now, he said.

Nani said that the government was imposing restrictions on loan waiver to reduce financial burden. Babu promised jobs to unemployed, but the government was arbitrarily terminating services of contract and outsourcing employees working in government departments, he added. Nani accused Chandrababu of belying hopes of unemployed who were eagerly waiting for jobs. Nani warned that YSRCP would launch a massive movement in support of farmers.

Kakinada: YSR Congress Party cadres staged dharna demanding fulfilment of poll promises made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Kakinada on Friday. Large number of farmers and party workers from all parts of the district staged dharna in front of the Collectorate and shouted slogans against the government.

Speaking on the occasion, YSR Congress Party leader Pinipe Viswaroop observed that the farmers and DWCRA women were struggling to pay the penalty imposed by banks as Chandrababu Naidu told them not to repay the loans. By making false promises for the last six months, the Telugu Desam government has betrayed the farmers.

YSR Congress Party leaders Jyothula Nehru, Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, Chirla Jaggi Reddy and Chalamsetty Sunil were among the present on the occasion.

YSRCP slams CM on loan waiver
Guntur:
YSRCP leaders lashed out at Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for betraying people by making false promises which were difficult to fulfill. Enthused by the large turnout at the dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Friday, the leaders came down heavily on the Chief Minister for committing a fraud on people by failing to execute the file that he signed immediately after taking over as the Chief Minister. State YSRCP General Secretary Ummareddy Venkateswarlu said that his loan waiver proved to be a damp squib which brought more confusion among the farmers than bringing any relief. He found fault with Naidu's announcement that only 20 per cent of the loan amount will be given to those whose loan amount exceeded Rs.50,000. He questioned the legality of the bonds that the Chief Minister was promising to give for the rest of the outstanding loan amount.

District president Marri Rajasekhar while congratulating the people for their large turnout stated that their response to the dharna indicated the magnitude of discontentment brewing among people. Guntur East MLA Sheik Mohamed Mustafa said that the loan amount of 20 per cent, which would be released by the government to the farmers, was a pittance as the amount would be adjusted as interest while the principal amount would continue to be outstanding.

Many farmers said that they have not asked for the loan waiver but Naidu knowing well that it is an impossible task made that promise only to come to power.

YSR Narsaraopeta parliamentary constituency in-charge Alla Peri Reddy and other leaders also spoke. They diverted traffic as there was a massive turnout virtually blocking the traffic near the Collectorate.
