Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister K Atchannaidu said the government had done significant work in the last six months of its tenure delivering many of its electoral promises. Addressing a joint press conference, Ministers Atchannaidu, Ganta Srinivas Rao and Paritala Sujatha have given the details of the Telugu Desam-led government in the last six months.

The Labour Minister said though the government had faced several hardships it had taken many important decisions like enhancement of the retirement age of employees from 58 to 60 years, enhanced old age and disabled pensions, waived crop loans and established NTR Sujala Sravanthi scheme providing safe drinking water.

However, the main opposition party leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy, he said, was misleading the people and was organising protests against a government that works. “He is worried about the party’s existence as many people were quitting his party,” he said.

Coming down heavily on the Congress party, he said PCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy had been making wild allegations against the TDP government, and added that Congress could not win even a single Gram Sarpanch in the State. He demanded that the PCC chief should resign from his post.
