Kurnool: District Collector Ch Vijay Mohan directed the Mandal Development Officers to motivate the people for constructing toilets, so as to have 100 per cent toilets in all village panchayats and 50 per cent in remote villages. He held a video conference with MPDOs, RSW, Municipal Commissioners and Irrigation department officials from the Collectorate here on Friday.

Addressing the officials, the Collector told them to take steps for completing the stipulated works within three months, utilising the government funds released according to the divisions. He said that he would be visiting three to four village per day and check the progress of the works.

Vijay Mohan said that the government was sanctioning Rs 12,000 per each toilet. Permission for constructing personal toilets would be given once the proposals for the same and the list of the eligible families were submitted under BPL, APL, SC, ST, physically-disabled and Indira Awas Yojana, he added.

The Collector said that many donors were voluntarily coming forward to construct water purification centers for the NTR Sujala Sravanthi scheme in all the village panchayats in the district. He told the Mandal Development Officers that it was their responsibility to supply sheds, power supply and others. He also suggested arranging RO plant on a large-scale to solve drinking water problem. He assured the officials that any problems relating to the setting up of the plant would be solved.

The Collector said that he came to know about several problems in pensions disbursement. He told the officials to inform the beneficiaries about the dates and venue of pensions disbursement. Stating that pensions disbursement should be completed before December 24, he directed the MPDOs to extend their cooperation to the postal department for fulfilling this task. He also suggested speeding up Jan Dhan Yojana scheme to complete the bank accounts before December 31 which will provide insurance coverage to the beneficiaries.

Joint Collector Kannababu, Additional Joint Collector Ramaswamy, Irrigation department SE Nageswar Rao, DWMA PD Pulla Reddy, postal department supervisor Subba Rao, Municipal Commissioner Murthy and others participated in the video conference.
