Vijayawada: The extended general body meeting of the Andhra Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Association will be held in Guntur on January 3, 2015. Speaking after releasing a poster of the general body meeting at the Press Club here on Saturday, association State president Kesana Sankara Rao said the National Commission for Backward Classes Chairman V Eswaraiah, BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah and people's representatives would attend. A huge rally would be organised.
He demanded a BC sub-plan on the lines of SC/ST sub-plan for the economic uplift of BCs. The meeting would discuss problems of BCs and the course of action to be followed for their socio-economic and political empowerment, Rao said. Association State organising secretary Pothina Venkata Mahesh, BC student wing State president N Maresh, MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah, BC Mahila Sangham leader Nukalamma were present.
