Collector asks officials to prepare action plan O Prajavani to be ‘Mee Kosam’ soon

Vizianagaram: Collector MM Nayak directed the officials to expedite clearance of petitions for the benefit of the people after receiving complaints at the Grievance Cell.

Addressing the officials at a review meeting after receiving petitions from the people at the weekly Grievance Cell at the Collectorate here on Monday, Mr Nayak said hasty actions by the officials so as to avoid pending cases would not be tolerated. Measures taken to resolve the cases should be uploaded in the Prajavani website and replies should be sent to the petitioners, he said.

The Collector said that the Prajavani programme launched by the government to resolve grievances would be called ‘Mee Kosam’ soon. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would soon launch the Mee Kosam website and the officials should upload the details of the grievances in the portal using the user ID and password provided to the departments. The Chief Minister, ministers and higher officials would monitor the website, he said.

Mr Nayak further asked the officials to prepare an action plan to plant one crore saplings in the district during 2015-16. He directed the officials to keep one crore saplings ready through the Social Forestry Department nurseries, Forest Department (Territorial) 25 lakh saplings and DWMA 16 lakh saplings. Every department should send reports on how many saplings it would require. Based on the indents, saplings would be provided to the departments, he said.

He said it was the responsibility of the DWMA project director to ensure that the saplings were given to the beneficiaries under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). A target to plant 20 lakh saplings in the ITDA limits, Panchayat officer 10 lakh saplings, Panchayat Raj, Irrigation and Zilla Parishad two lakh each. Targets were also set for the Education and Endowments, municipalities, DRDA, Housing and other departments, he said.

Mr Nayak directed the officials to take steps to fill the vacant backlog posts in various departments. He asked the officials to send the details of backlog posts for SCs, STs and the physically challenged to the respective officials immediately.

The Collector further said RTI Commissioner Lam Thanthiya Kumari would be visiting the district on January 23.
