Giddalur (Prakasam): Suspicion surrounds the death of a housewife, Donapati Padmasri, a California-based doctor of P R Colony in the town, following allegations that her husband, Nandakishore Reddy, a software engineer, had been demanding additional dowry. The couple, living in California, was married in 1999. They have a son and a daughter. Her brother alleged that Reddy might have murdered her.

The trouble arose after the couple developed differences. The mystery over the death deepened following allegations by her relatives that Reddy had been harassing Padmasri. They claimed that he had illicit relations with a woman and that he intended to marry his girlfriend.
