HC dismisses plea against VGMC.Justice A Rajasekhara Reddy of the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday dismissed a writ plea challenging the order of the Visakhapatnam Greater Municipal Corporation in demolishing a dilapidated building. The judge was dealing with a petition filed by Gottumukkala Peddi Nagaraju.
Justice A Rajasekhara Reddy of the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday dismissed a writ plea challenging the order of the Visakhapatnam Greater Municipal Corporation in demolishing a dilapidated building. The judge was dealing with a petition filed by Gottumukkala Peddi Nagaraju. The petitioner is a tenant to a building that the VGMC had ordered to be demolished. VGMC had informed the house owner that the building had to be demolished.
The petitioner approached the court saying that he was not informed about the demolition. The judge had ordered a stay on the demolition on February 6 and directed the authorities to submit the relevant documents for the legality of the demolition. After the judge went through the documents, the judge found that the building was indeed in a dilapidated state and that the VGMC was not obliged to inform the tenant and dismissed the petition.
