Speaking at Nellimarla in Vizianagaram constituency where he participated in various development programmes along with Union Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, he questioned the need for the Opposition parties to politicise the land pooling for the State capital.

The Minister went to the extent of saying that if farmers were not willing to offer their lands for the capital, the State government was ready to build it either in Vizianagaram or Visakhapatnam districts. Group rivalry in the district TDP unit came to the fore with Minister Kimidi Mrunalini skipping the programmes in which the two Ministers participated.

Both Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Ayyanna Patrudu inaugurated a bridge built at a cost of Rs 2.25 crore at L Lingalavalasa in Gajapathinagaram mandal. They participated in various development programmes, including laying foundation-stone for a ‘Vyayamshala’ at Kondavelagada village costing Rs 45 lakh and ‘Neeru-Chettu’ scheme at Logisa village.

At Venkatapuram, Ayyanna Patrudu launched a water tanker. Addressing the gathering, he said NREGS workers would be paid an additional 25 per cent wage for working in the summer. Schemes worth Rs 120 crore were prepared by the government to overcome water crisis during the summer. Of this amount, Rs 40 crore was already released. Ayyanna Patrudu assured the gathering that fodder would be secured from West Godavari district for supplying to farmers of north coastal Andhra.
