Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President N Raghuveera Reddy today suspended party general secretary Nedurumalli Ramkumar Reddy on the charge of anti-party activities. Talking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Raghuveera Reddy said the party has taken a decision to suspend Ramkumar Reddy for switching loyalties to other party.

In a related development, Ramkumar Reddy joined the BJP fold in the presence of Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu along with his followers at Nellore on Sunday. Ramkumar contested unsuccessfully from Venkatagiri Assembly constituency in Nellore district recently. Son of former chief minister N Janardhan Reddy and former minister N Rajya Lakshmi, Ramkumar also hails form Nellore, the home district of Venkaiah Naidu.
Nellore: Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, M Venkaiah Naidu lashed out at the Congress party for its policies which have completely ruined the nation. He said that Congress party patronised corruption and looted the resources of the country. Addressing the BJP workers here on Sunday, he said that the reputation of the country has been totally tarnished by the previous UPA government, giving rise to terrorism.
Venkaiah Naidu said that the Congress party was bereft of ideology and its only goal was to grab power. He said that the people of the state has rightly punished the Congress party by totally wiping it out from Andhra Pradesh where it failed to win a single MLA or MP seat during the 2014 elections. He said that the people of the state were facing untold hardships due to the injustice meted out to it after bifurcation.
Venkaiah Naidu assured the people that he would strive for special category status to Andhra Pradesh. He said that the ordinance on Polavaram was promulgated only after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister. Welcoming Neduramalli Ram Kumar Reddy, son of former Chief Minister N Janardhana Reddy into the BJP here on Sunday, Venkaiah Naidu said that the Congress has no future in the country as it was not bothered about the welfare of the people while the BJP emerged as the largest national party in the country.
Ram Kumar Reddy, in his speech, said that he was fed up with the groupism and factionalism in the Congress party which has greatly harmed the interests of the state. He said that the people of the state would never forgive the Congress party for its treachery at the time of bifurcation of the state. He said that he was joining the BJP as he had complete faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Venkaiah Naidu who would take the country to great heights. BJP leader and Visakhapatnam MP Hari Babu, Ministers Manikyala Rao and Kamineni Srinivas, former Ministers Kanna Lakshimnarayana and D Purandeshwari, Nellore district BJP leaders Surender Reddy and others were present.
