Sacrilege of Jagan visit purified, say TDP leaders Alleging ‘sacrilege’ of the Prakasam Barrage due to the visit of YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders performed ‘Ksheerabhishekam’ to the statue of Krishnaveni at the barrage and said that it was an act of ‘purification’.

Their move came after the YSR Congress Chief visit campaigning against the Pattiseema project and denouncing it as a corrupt deal by the TDP government to fill up pockets of leaders.
The State government was taking up the Pattiseema lift irrigation project in the larger interest of the farming community, but was trying to divide people on the regional lines, TDP leaders alleged.
In the past, the YS Rajasekhara Reddy government had taken up Jalayagnam programme with many irregularities and on the contrary today Jagan Mohan Reddy was visiting Polavaram and other projects, alleged Budda Venkanna, TDP Urban Convenor.“We believe the barrage got desecrated due to Mr. Reddy’s visit and hence, we are purifying the place,” he said.
