Nellore: Dr T Ravi Raju, Vice-Chancellor of NTR University of Health Sciences, lauded Dr Kaliki Hymavathi for receiving "World’s Best Gynaecologist” award. Hymavathi was felicitated at a function organised at Narayana Medical College Auditorium here on Thursday. The Vice-Chancellor said the winning of the award by Dr Hymavathi was not only an honour for Narayana Hospitals but also a proud achievement for NTR University. Dr Ravi Raju was the chief guest at the function.

Dr Kaliki Hymavathi expressed appreciation over the high standards of medical education, medical services and research established by Narayana Medical College Hospital. Dr Sridhar, Principal of SV Medical College, who was the guest of honour, said that the tremendous strides achieved by Narayana Medical Group, was a matter of pride for South India.

Dr G Subramanyam, Director, Narayana Medical College, said that many ladies had brought prestige to Nellore. He said that Dr Hymavathi achieved a rare feat by ensuring that an achondroplastic dwarf successfully delivered a female baby, which had brought acclaim not only for Nellore district but also to the Telugu States. Vijay Mohan Reddy, CEO, Dr Sriram Satish, medical superintendent, Dr JN Naidu and Dr Mahesh, Principals, Dr Indira, Dean of Nursing School, PMDs of autonomous organisations and others participated in the function.
