Naidu to get 5.5 cr bulletproof bus

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has chosen to buy a bulletproof bus for the district tours of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The bus will be used whenever Naidu would be visiting the districts and remote villages in both the Telugu speaking states.

According to official sources, all important public representatives who would accompany Naidu will also go in the same vehicle. Apart from having state of the art security arrangements, it will also have ultra modern facilities like TV, internet and other facilities. This new vehicle would cost the exchequer Rs 5.50 crore.

The bus is being procured by the APSRTC from M/s JCBL of Chandigarh. The sources said that the bus is at present in the paint shop. An expert security team would inspect the bus and the bullet proofing before it is cleared for use by Naidu.It may be mentioned here that Naidu’s security wing was keen on getting this tailor-made bus since the AP Chief Minister has not only been constantly touring remote areas of Andhra Pradesh but will also be going round Telangana in his capacity as president of the Telugu Desam Party.
