Hyderabad: The expert committee headed by senior bureaucrat Sheela Bhide, appointed by the Union government, to oversee the division of public sector undertakings and corporations of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014, has submitted its report. in the case of 59 entities falling under Schedule – IX of the act.
According to a communiqué released by the committee here on Tuesday, the committee had so far had held 48 meetings since it commenced its work on June 5, 2014. Following the request of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments, AP Vaddera Cooperative Societies Federation had been added to 89 entities listed under the said schedule making the total number of corporation and PSUs to be demerged to 90.
Of these, so far proposals had been submitted to the Central government in regard to 59 companies, which stood at 65 per cent of the demerger proposals, were now before the Union government to take a decision. The committee further said it had also reviewed the progress of 31 companies in finalising their division proposals, and asked them to submit their reports latest by August 15, 2015.
Delay in the finalisation of the proposals was due to non-finalisation of the audit and accounts of these entities, it added. Finalisation of accounts particularly in case of entities listed under Schedule –IX, like AP Housing Corporation, AP Housing Board, Deccan Infrastructure and Land Holdings Limited, AP State Finance Corporation, AP Industrial Development Corporation, AP Technological Services, AP Water Resources Development Corporation, AP Vikalangula Cooperative Corporation, AP Tourism Development Corporation, AP Minorities Financial Corporation had hindered the progress of division of them.
