Eluru: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the government would take up ‘Maha Sankalpam’ from June 8 in the State for all-round development and elimination of poverty. The Chief Minister took part in Janmabhoomi-Maa Vuru at Velpuru village in Tanuku constituency of West Godavari district on Thursday.


Addressing the gathering and interacting with women groups, Naidu said he was announcing the ‘Maha Sankalpam’ programme for the first time in West Godavari district and declared that the Sankalpam would continue till the Andhra Pradesh reached first place in development. He said the programme would start at Eluru on June 8.


Repeating his complaint that state was bifurcated irrationally, Naidu lambasted the Congress for ruining the state in the last 10 years. He said he created wealth during his tenure and all villages were provided with cement roads and drains. He asked the district collector to level the land earmarked for housing with gravel from upland areas in Tanuku constituency to provide housing to 25,000 families.


The Chief Minister said 1+2 or 1+3 houses would be constructed benefiting 1,008 families in the constituency.Calling for construction of toilets in all households in villages for a healthy environment, he said each household will get Rs 15,000 as government funding for the purpose.

He also said the government had sanctioned 15,000 crores as Dwcra Groups’ Capital Fund in the state. Listing the steps taken up by the government for the benefit of farmers, the CM said farm machinery would be supplied at 50 per cent to 75 per cent subsidy through Dwcra groups.
