Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president N Raghuveera Reddy called upon each and every party activist to put pressure on the governments by focusing on the irregularities rolled in implementing welfare schemes or misuse of funds or nepotism in giving promotions, after obtaining official information through Right to Information Act.


He handed over the letter appointing P V Satyam, party president of 39th ward as the chairman of District Congress, at a meeting held here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Raghuveera said the credit of setting up of Lok Adalat, Consumer Act and RTI Act goes to Congress as it had implemented these public-related Acts to help ensure transparency in government administration.


Today, lakhs of people have been utilizing the RTI Act to get official information and it acts like a watch dog of government administration. Expressing gratitude to the party high command for his appointment, Satyam assured of striving for the party development by nailing the government departments after obtaining information through RTI Act, with regard to the implementation of various welfare schemes.

Rajya Sabha Member T Subbarami Reddy, City Congress Committee president Behra Bhaskar Rao, City Mahila Congress Committee president Pedada Ramani Kumari, party leaders Gunturu Bharathi, Konda Rajiv and others participated.
