Mangalagiri (Guntur): Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated his resolve to place Andhra Pradesh on the world map and develop Amaravathi as a world-class city with the blessings of the 5 crore people of the State. Addressing a massive gathering at the Bible Mission grounds, the very place where he took oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh exactly an year ago, here on Monday, Chandrababu Naidu assured that all the promises he made in the election manifesto would be implemented in toto.
He vowed to carry forward the spirit of 'Maha Sankalpa' for achieving the dreams of the people of the State. Outlining his achievements during the past one year after he took over as the Chief Minister, Naidu said that he waived off farm loans to the tune of Rs.24,000 crore and SHG loans to the tune of Rs 6,000 crore. He also implemented his promise to give pensions to the aged and the disabled persons which amounted to staggering Rs 40,000 crore despite the financial resources crunch dogging the state.
The residuary State of Andhra Pradesh inherited a deficit of Rs 15,000 crore. Against all odds, he said that he never went back on his major promises made to the people. While detailing his achievements, he asked people to clap as an affirmation of the fulfilled promises. The State under his leadership had transformed into power surplus State.
AP is now in a position to sell power to other states. The CM said that every region has been given Central institutes and universities. Naidu announced that in a few months, every home would be provided with optical fibre cables which would revolutionise electronics industry in the State. The optical fibre cable would arm every home with internet connection, television connection and telephone connection with a single cable wire. He promised youth that they would all get jobs in the State.
