Godavari Pushkaralu stampede kills 11

Godavari Pushkaralu in Andhra Pradesh was off to a sad start as at least eleven people died in stampede after heavy rush of people thronged the venue. It is learnt that the victims included three women.

The most auspicious Pushkaralu which lasts for 12 days is like Kumbh Mela and began in Rajahmundry. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu regretted the unfortunate incident and reviewing the situation.Opposition parties slammed AP government for lack of proper arrangements at the venue. Jyothula Nehru, YSRCP Deputy floor leader urged the state government to beef up security at the ghats.
