Former Amalapuram MP Harsha Kumar's son Sriraj filed a complaint at the III-town police station in Rajahmundry. In the complaint, Sriraj alleged that Chandrababu and Boyapati's documentary shooting had led to the stampede.
It is learnt that he also mentioned in the complaint that Chandrababu and Boyapati had kept pilgrims waiting for two hours for their documentary at the ghat meant for ordinary pilgrims as the crowds swelled outside. This delayed opening of gates for pilgrims, resulting in the sudden surge, he alleged
