New Delhi: The CPI state leadership raked up the special status issue seeking to know why the status could not be accorded to Andhra Pradesh. CPI senior leader K Narayana, on Thursday questioned the “inability” of the Union Minister, M Venkaiah Naidu and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, in securing the special status for AP as they had promised.


Talking to the media along with D Raja, CPI MP, said they urged the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, to accord the special status without any delay. They said it was upto the TDP to decide whether it wants to continue its friendship with the BJP or join hands withthe people in demanding the special status. The residuary State of AP needed the status to overcome its financial crisis and to compete with other States in development.
