AP JAC stages protest at Jantar Mantar
Andhra Pradesh JAC leaders held a protest at Jantar Mantar here on Friday demanding Special Status for the State as promised during the bifurcation of the State. Leaders of Journalists Unions, APNGOs and a few other groups raised slogans protesting the injustice meted out to AP.

TDP MPs T Narasimham, Maganti Babu, K Narayana and A Srinivas addressed the gathering explaining the efforts being put in by the party to secure the Special Status. The Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, was doing his best to change the profile of the State but Centre's help was key to the same, they added.
The promise of Special Status was made by the BJP leadership before and after the bifurcation and hence they should keep their word, they asserted. They stated that their single minded purpose at New Delhi is to secure Special Status to State. APNGOs leaders Ashok Babu and Murali Krishna warned the Centre that the people of AP would not like to be backstabbed on the Special Status issue. People had voted for the TDP-BJP combine with fond hope of speedy development.
