Srisailam Reservoir facing threat?
The Srisailam Reservoir is facing a threat after leaked water filled the lower floor of the dam’s gallery following burning of two motors caused by a short circuit. The motors are used to drain out water. Non-availability of spare motors complicated the problem, adding to the woes of the project officials.

The officials have been holding discussions since Sunday night after water surfaced from the dam’s bottom. Their efforts to check the water flow failed. As a result the level kept rising, touching a danger level. The mishap is being attributed to the officials’ negligent attitude.
The officials brought a spare motor from another department to flood out the water. The dam employees say that the reservoir would be on the verge of danger if the water fills the gallery’s second floor.
