Vijayawada: The proposed state cabinet meeting to be held in here on Monday is likely to discuss on housing facility to employees, who are relocating from Hyderabad. It is believed that the government started considering housing for employees, after many bemoaned lack of infrastructure, when the State government mandated relocation from Hyderabad by June 2016.

According to officials as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is running administration from the city, is planning to shift key departments for administrative convenience. Joint collectors and municipal commissioners of both Vijayawada and Guntur conducted a survey to identify the vacant buildings and construction sites in both the cities to accommodate various offices.

Meanwhile some Ministers are keen to shift to city as Chief Minister is staying here for five days a week. Many NGO leaders, including P Ashok Babu, made it clear that employees are ready to shift to the State capital, if the government provides necessary infrastructure. They even appealed to people Vijayawada and Guntur to be generous towards employees while collecting rentals.

C Ramachandraiah, leader of opposition in Legislative Council also demanded the Chief Minister provide necessary infrastructure and questioned the rationale behind fixing a deadline for relocation, when there is no proper infrastructure.
