Hyderabad: In a move to resolve the contentious issues between the two Telugu states, the central government has convened a meeting of the committee appointed by the Union government headed by Joint Secretary of Home Ministry Alok Kumar on November 26.

The committee consists of Secretary Union Ministry of Employment, Personnel and Training Sanjay Kothari, the two Chief Secretaries of AP and Telangana IYR Krishna Rao and Rajiv Sharma respectively and the resident commissioners of the two Telugu-speaking states. The officials from the Centre will interact with senior officials of different departments, including Secretary to AP Government and member of Kamalanatham Committee L Prema Chandra Reddy, and his counterpart from Telangana, Ramakrishna Rao.

According to officials, there is no fixed agenda as this is the first meeting of the committee constituted by the Centre. The committee will take stock of the progress in the allocation of employees, and other issues that arose following the bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. The committee wants the two states to resolve all the outstanding issues within two months.
