Man tries to rape minor girl

Visakhapatnam: A 31-year-old man was arrested for attacking and attempting to disrobe a 13-year-old girl in Madinabagh area under Duvvada police station limits on Friday.
The Duvvada police said they arrested Mohammed Valli for allegedly assaulting the minor girl, a class-VII student, with the intention of raping her. Valli is a resident of Madinabagh.
Sub-Inspector of Duvvada Diwakar Yadav said that the accused waylaid the girl at an isolated spot when she was returning home at Ibrahimpeta from the school at around 5.30 pm on Thursday. Valli assaulted her and tried to remove her clothes. The panic struck girl narrated the incident to her parents, who later lodged a complaint with the police, on Friday.
Based on the complaint, the police arrested the accused Valli on Saturday under Section 354 (b) of IPC and section 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The investigation is on.
