A woman along with her 11-month-old daughter committed suicide by jumping into an agricultural canal near Palivela village in Kothapeta mandal in East Godavari district on Saturday late night.
Kothapeta (East Godavari): A woman along with her 11-month-old daughter committed suicide by jumping into an agricultural canal near Palivela village in Kothapeta mandal in East Godavari district on Saturday late night.
The deceased have been identified as Nakka Venkatarathnam (24) and her daughter Prasanna. The police have said that they have recovered Venkatarathnam’s body on Sunday. The search for daughter’s body was on.
According to sources, Venkatarathnam jumped into the canal after throwing her daughter in it. Police said the woman allegedly killed herself and her daughter due to harassment for dowry from her in-laws and husband. DSP L Ankaiah and SI D Vijaya Kumar took up investigation.
