Woman burnt alive in mishap

A 70-year-old woman was burnt alive in a fire accident that took place at Madhupada village in Vizianagaram district in the early hours of Friday. The deceased was identified as K Appalanarsamma. At the time of the incident, the old woman was alone in one of the three thatched houses that were gutted in the fire accident.

Gajapathinagaram(Vizianagaram): A 70-year-old woman was burnt alive in a fire accident that took place at Madhupada village in Vizianagaram district in the early hours of Friday. The deceased was identified as K Appalanarsamma. At the time of the incident, the old woman was alone in one of the three thatched houses that were gutted in the fire accident.

According to sources, the incident took place at BC Colony in Madhupada village when the inmates of one of the thatched houses lit a stove to generate heat in the house to protect themselves from the cold. Unfortunately, the sparks from the stove spread into the house resulting in fire mishap. The elderly woman could not escape from the fire accident and was charred to death. Gajapatinagaram police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem after dousing the fire .
