Guntur: Tulasi group chairman Tulasi Ramachandra Prabhu on Saturday called upon students to achieve command over English, which would help in securing good jobs.

He was chief guest at the all-in-one books distribution to 133 students. Tulasi Seeds arranged the distribution in Auxilium School at LIC Colony here.

Prabhu advised SSC students to realise the importance of the books and utilise them properly. Prabhu underlined the need of students taking to sports for boosting their health, along with studies.

He cited the example of A P J Abdul Kalam and Dr B R Ambedkar who were elevated to top posts because of their hard work though they hailed from poor families. Prabhu announced that the group would take up supply of snacks during evenings for SSC students, this year also.

Teacher Nataraj said the school students were able to achieve 100 per cent pass, thanks to the gesture of the Tulasi Group. Some students took a pledge that they would emulate Prabhu’s example of serving society. The books were distributed to the students of Auxilium braches in Ongole and Kurnool.

Among those present were Sisters Loordhu Mary, Leema, Jostina, Sangeeta, Padmaja, president of Vivekananda Seva Samiti Srinivas Reddy and headmistress Sister Brijet and school staff.
