The Maoists on Monday axed a 50-year-old tribal Vanatala Satya Rao to death after branding him as a police informer. The incident took place in Madatakonda village of Killomkota panchayat of G Madugula mandal on Sunday. Since the village was located in an interior place of the Agency, the information came to the police on Monday morning. The Maoists after killing him left a leaflet at the spot.

The Maoists on Monday axed a 50-year-old tribal Vanatala Satya Rao to death after branding him as a police informer. The incident took place in Madatakonda village of Killomkota panchayat of G Madugula mandal on Sunday. Since the village was located in an interior place of the Agency, the information came to the police on Monday morning. The Maoists after killing him left a leaflet at the spot.

In the leaflet, they said Satya Rao was executed for being close to the ASP of Paderu and Sub-Inspector of G Madugula and for being instrumental in surrender of the activists. Satya Rao is survived by wife and three children. He was also former ward member of Killomkota panchayat.
The incident also revealed the Maoists intention to prove their strength on the first day of their bauxite protest week launched on Monday. It will conclude on December 27 and the Maoists also called for agency bandh on December 26. Tension prevailed in the Agency following the killing and the recent exchange of fire near Araku Valley. The police have intensified their combing operations in the Agency.
