The Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru (JBMV), a people-centred development and welfare programme will begin on January 2 in the State. Public representatives, government functionaries and representatives of various community-based organisations will visit gram panchayats and municipal wards during JBMV programme.

Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao held a preparatory meeting on Wednesday with officials of different departments on the JBMV programme.
He said that the first phase of JBMV conducted in October, 2014, concentrated on the areas of pensions, health camps, veterinary camps, sensitising people through five campaigns, grievance redressal and preparation and collection of data through
micro plan.
The second phase of JBMV conducted between June 3 and 7 focused on distribution of rations through Public Distribution System (PDS), social empowerment, knowledge, skill development, information sharing on farmers loan redemption, capital infusion to DWACRA groups, issue of passbooks, distribution of NTR Bharosa pensions and grievances redressal.
The main theme of the third phase of JBMV commencing on January 2, 2016, is “Smart Village – Smart Ward” (SVSW) aimed at achieving Smart Andhra Pradesh.
The thrust areas of the JBMV are to facilitate interaction of the partners of SVSW with government officials and community; sensitising the partners and community and sensitising the partners and community on baseline survey of the SVSW programme.
Distribution of existing pensions, sanctioning and distribution of new ration cards, sanctioning of houses and verification of eligibility for new houses, conducting of health and veterinary camps; action taken report on grievances and assurances of previous JBMV and registering of new grievances and assurances will be taken up in the third phase JBMV, the Chief Secretary informed. He instructed District Collectors to prepare the visit schedule of each team and give wide publicity in gram panchayats and municipal wards in advance.
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department will take up one-day training programme at mandal and municipality level to all the JBMV members to sensitise them on the thrust areas of the third phase of JBMV.
Guidelines for third phase of JBMV on SVSW have been prepared, the Chief Secretary said.
Special Chief Secretary of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Dinesh Kumar, CEO SERP Solomon Arokiya Raj, Secretary Water Resources Department Sasibhushan and others attended the meeting.
