Police have arrested four including three women red sanders smugglers here on Sunday and recovered four red sanders logs and a four-wheeler worth Rs 6.75 lakh. Speaking to the media here on Monday, Chittoor DSP Lakshmi Naidu said that the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) and police personnel have caught a vehicle which was carrying red sanders logs while they were conducting vehicle checks at Murakambattu.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, Chittoor DSP Lakshmi Naidu said that the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) and police personnel have caught a vehicle which was carrying red sanders logs while they were conducting vehicle checks at Murakambattu.
The DSP said that police nabbed three women Ranjithamma (30), Palaniyamma (40), Thirthi (40) along with C Annamalai (34). All of them are the residents of the Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu.
Naidu said that red sanders smugglers changed their strategy and using women to carry out smuggling of red sanders logs. He stated that red sanders smugglers have thought the police would not check the vehicles if women were travelling.
Referring to the Mayor couple murder case, the DSP said that police have arrested Chandrashekar alias Mogili, who is tenth accused in the case, on Sunday. “So far, the police have arrested 20 accused in the murder case while the investigation is still going on,” he added.
Naidu said that Mogili used to be the close associate of Chintu, who is the main accused in the double murder case. He pointed out that the two more accused in the case are absconding and they would be nabbed soon.
The RSASTF DSP Giridhar, Taluk police station Circle Inspector Chandrasekhar, Sub Inspector Murali and other police personnel were present.
