Gangadhar started harassing Ramadevi from the time of their marriage for money. With this, she left to her parents’ place at KSR Thota area in Eluru city. Recently she returned to her in-laws’ house in Hanuman Nagar. The husband, Gangadhar, again started harassing her for money.

Ramadevi got a house under Indiramma scheme during 2009. Her husband started beating her up to sell the property and give him Rs.1.5 lakh. For the last two days, the couple were quarrelling on the issue. On Saturday morning, he beaten up Ramadevi at his house. When she fell unconscious, he left the house. The neighbours admitted her in Government Hospital here. She succumbed to the injuries at the hospital. The doctors confirmed that she was beaten up severely resulted in her death.

The irate relatives of Ramadevi attacked her husband and beaten up Gangadhar and his family members at the hospital. The Two-Town police rushed to the Hospital and took the Gangadhar into custody. Eluru Rural police registered a case.
