It’s been more than 18 months since his debut film ‘Alludu Sreenu’ hit the screens but actor Bellamkonda Sreenivas is least perturbed about it.
“You should come out with a good film, right? I’m still taking my baby steps in the industry. I’ll turn 23 Sunday. I’m in no hurry,” insists Sreenivas, who will be next seen in Bheemaneni Srinivas Raavu’s ‘Speedunnodu’, a remake of 2011 Tamil blockbuster ‘Sundarapandian’.
Ask the actor what drove him to star in the remake, knitted around romance between a guy and girl and its effect in a village, he responds, “In mainstream cinema, it’s a rarity to get a performance- oriented role whereas ‘Sundarapandian’ offered me ‘one’.
Moreover—except for the climax— we gave the original script a complete new spin keeping the Telugu sensibilities. The climax will linger in your mind after you go home.”
Sreenivas says director Bheemaneni is planning to release the film on February 4. “Barring a song, which will be shot from January 14, the film is wrapped up,” he states.
Up next, Sreenivas will be collaborating with top-drawer director Boyapati Sreenu. The actor-director were supposed to team up last year but as Boyapati got a window from Allu Arjun’s calendar, he moved on to make a film with him.
“Film with Boyapati will go on to floors on April 8. It will be an emotional action entertainer and the director wants me to be extremely fit,” he shares with a smirk.
What’s the status with his producer dad Bellamkonda Suresh, who has gone broke courtesy the failure of ‘Rabhasa’? “He is planning to make a film soon, let’s see,” signs off the birthday boy, who will throw a lavish bash to his friends.
Also, the teaser of ‘Speedunnodu’ will be unveiled to mark the occasion.
