Visakhapatnam: Predicting New Year would be a promising year, Vizag Steel Plant, Chairman and Managing Director P Madhusudan informed that the steel plant has registered the highest turnover of Rs 1,617 crore in the month of December, 2015.

Addressing the senior officers and trade union leaders to mark the New Year on Friday, Madhusudan underscored the need to focus on optimising the cost of production and ramping up production from all the expanded units so as to compete in the present competitive steel market scenario.

He stated that the focus in the New Year must be on improving techno parameters and asked to maintain high quality of the products to help increase the brand image of the company. Reviewing the overall performance of RINL in 2015, the CMD said that it was a year of consolidation and appreciated the RINL collective for various achievements in modernisation and operational areas.

Expecting similar support of Steel Executives’ Association and the trade unions in enhancing the productivity in the New Year, too, as was extended during 2015, he maintained. Director (Production) PC Mahapatra, Director (Personnel) GBS Prasad, Director (Operations) D N Rao, Director (Finanace) TVS Krishna and Chief Vigilance Officer B Siddhartha Kumar also mentioned about the achievements of the steel plant and challenges ahead in the New Year. Earlier, the CMD released the company’s New Year calendar and corporate diary brought out by the Department of Corporate Communications.
