Atmakur (Kurnool): Very few people turned up at the Janmabhoomi programme organised at Krishnapuram village near Atmakur in Srisailam assembly constituency on Saturday resulting in delay by two hours to start the programme.

Srisailam MLA and YSRCP district president Budda Rajasekhar Reddy, who participated in the inauguration of the new building for village panchayat in Krishnapuram, went to the mandal parishad upper primary school where Janmabhoomi programme is organised. To his dismay, he had to wait for more than two hours since no one turned up for the programme. After noticing the MLA, the villagers including women more in numbers appealed to the MLA to do justice to them. They stated that all schemes were being allotted to Telugu Desam party workers and the poor were not given pensions, loans, housing, ration cards and others.

MLA Rajasekhar Reddy who was visibly moved by the plight of the people got angry with the TDP leaders. He said that it was unjust to allot all welfare measures to the TDP workers. “Do the TDP leaders want to turn the villages and the district into yellow?” he wondered.

The MLA lambasted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for cheating people by not waiving the agriculture and self-help group loans. He said that the Chief Minister was wasting public funds in the name of Chandranna Kanuka and others. He exhorted the people to question the leaders over the injustice during Janmabhoomi programmes. The TDP leaders who were present remained silent over the tirade of the MLA.
