Speaking on the occasion, MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu said that in order to provide quality medical services at free of cost to the poor people, the government had been initiating several reforms. He said that the scheme will facilitate operation of 102 service for free transport of pregnant women to hospitals in emergency. He said that the women with their children would be dropped at their homes after the delivery and added that the service is just a call away.
He recalled that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had launched the NTR Vaidya Pareekskhalu scheme at Eluru government hospital on January 1 with an objective of extending free diagnosis to the patients with poor economic background. He said that the government has granted Rs 900 crore for the scheme.
