Guntur: CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy reiterated the need for reunion of Left and democratic forces for presenting an alternative to the colonial parties-Congress and BJP. The National Council will discuss the issue during the next couple of days and will take the lead in this regard.

Addressing a public meeting at the Mahima Grounds organised as part of 90th anniversary celebrations of the party here on Friday, Sudhakar Reddy said communist parties are now working together and launching joint movements in support of people’s struggles already.

Suravaram referred to a US-based institute’s report published by the media pointed out that 100 billionaires in India are controlling 50 per cent of the wealth of India which is alarming and must go.
He slammed PM Narendra Modi for his pro-corporate policies.

CPI national leader Amerjit Kaur and others spoke. Earlier, the party’s National Secretariat Committee of Communist Party of India consisting of 35 members met at the local CPI party office here on Friday as part of the 3-day National Council meeting.
