`Sankranti Sambaralu’ to highlight Telugu culture

Kurnool:`Sankranti Sambaralu’ will be held in the district from Monday highlighting the rich culture and heritage of Telugu people. The district administration has made elaborate arrangements to organise the harvesting festival celebrations on a grand scale. Sankranti Sambaralu will be held at village level on January 11 and at mandal level on Jan 12. The celebrations will take place in the district headquarters Kurnool on Jan 13 and 14.

Rangoli and cookery contests for women and games competitions for children will be organised. Prizes will be distributed to winners. Cattle shows will also be held in mandals as part of the festival celebrations. District Chief Planning Officer D Anand Naik held a video conference with mandal nodal officers at the Collectorate here on Friday and reviewed arrangements for Sankranti Sambaralu. He directed them to ensure the smooth conduct of festivities in their respective mandals. Kurnool Municipal Commissioner S Ravindra Babu and other district officials also took part in the video conference.
